The magnetic reed relay allows for alternate inputs for the YourBell and the Large Home Annunciator. It is mainly used to sense the opening of a door or window. Add in the wall transformer and a small business can monitor from two to four doors providing a distinct chime when a door is opened. The branding of products or the theme of a store can be enhanced by what is played when a person walks in. It will always be apparent which door has been opened.

How it works :
The magnet will mount to the part that moves such as the door. The switch mounts to a stationary object such as the door jam. There are 3 terminals on the switch - C (common), NO (normally open) and NC (normally closed). When the magnet is within 1/2" of the switch (the door is closed) there will be a connection between C and NC and an open between C and NO. When the door opens and the magnet is over 1/2" away then there will be a connection between C and NO and open between C and NC.
